I am on work permit in Canada and Can legally work anywhere. I recently moved from Montreal to Ottawa after my graduation in Ottawa because I found a contract job in Ottawa. Since my job is on contract basis, I can't get Ontario's health Insurance. But I already have Quebec health card (RAMQ Card) which is valid for 3 more years, which is valid in Quebec only.
If I stay in gatineau qc and continue to work in Ottawa, will my RAMQ card is valid if something happened to me in Quebec? or should I take private health insurance to be on safer side. Also, please suggest me some cheap private insurance plans (If you know any).
@Acajack Thanks for the reply, Is it valid if something wrong happens in Ottawa?
For hospitals yes.
