One day you look around and can't believe your child is starting high school. Suddenly, in the blink of an eye, I have a Junior. The problem is, I know how unbelievably fast the past two years just went by....and so I know how fast these last two will go. Makes me teary just writing this.....
I know how you feel... my DD just turned 20 last week and that seems....old. I swear I can still remember shopping with her for the "perfect" outfit to start kindergarten in...

For DS I'm at work during the day so it's not so much a matter of missing him...in fact, we might see him more now that he's cut back on his work hours and is home doing homework and going to be early instead of out with his buds on weeknights. Part of me is relieved to get back to a more firm schedule but I do dread some of the stress that comes along with it. Hard to believe we onlly have one more "first day of school".....darn, now I'm teary too!

When mine disappeared into the school building for the first day of kindergarten, I stood in the school parking lot and cried. My memories are as vivid as if it were yesterday.

Judging by the status of many of my Facebook friends, nearly all of them are dancing with joy that the kids are going back to school.

Mine are 15, 12, 10, 7 and 6. It will be great to get them out of the house and I'll be able to get more work done (I work from home), but part of me will miss the togetherness. Every year when school starts up, it's also a reminder of how fast they're growing up, especially my oldest (she'll start her sophmore year on Friday). In a few short years, she'll be out of the house! .

LOL, that's why I posted. All of my mom friends are excited with the fact that their kiddos will be gone for 8 hrs. a day. Me, not so much.

I am happy that they are going back because I work in education and miss them!

No, you're not the only one. I love having my dd home. We did alot of volunteer work w/ rescued horses this summer. I really enjoyed that time w/ her. She started back Aug 15th and prior to that, she had 3 1/2 wks of band practice. I'm getting use to our new schedule and am able to have more time working from home, but I definitely miss her.

I cried when my son went to kindergarten. It was really emotional for me. I don't know what it is about kindergarten. I guess we realize they are nto our little babies anymore.
