A lot of parents don't have the time or skills to raise kids well.
So they put them on video games until they turn 18, then release them to the streets.

There's a lot of luck involved if you're a kid on who you are born to.
Could be born to Mother Teresa, or to some psychopath who beats his children and hides it.

But some parents are really great and would be good at raising other peoples' kids, too.

Was thinking society would be better off if all kids were raised by pro orphanages with a bunch of kids, run by good program directors.

Then all kids would have an equal shot at life, there would be less abuse, more opportunity for talented kids born to **** parents.

Kids would have more friends, too, because they would have a bunch of other kids in their orphanage, and they would all get legit childhoods.

And ideally an orphanage would prepare kids for real life, like finding a job, rather than keeping them busy until they turned 18 to let them loose on the streets.

Maybe there's some similarities. I don't think you should have the first 18 years of your life dictated by random people, though.

Some people don't even want to be parents.

Um...your entire premise is that random people--in an orphanage--should raise children. Remember? Your OP? A few posts back?

go work for state foster care system then get back to me on how good a group home for children is. Believe me, a group enviroment is far from ideal and abuse does take place in these enviroments. placing kids with other family is always a better out come. I'll pass on the koolaid your serving.
