Given the child's history, if you walked in Marylee's shoes, you'd know why she is pumped about being able to manage her "unmanageable" child. OT, for parents who have a child with a disability that involves behavioral problems, the normal discipline doesn't always work. I'm not saying Marylee's son is disabled, but he does have a history of behavioral issues, and some nonconventional or tough-love discipline may be the only thing that works for him.
Also, since the door wasn't closed properly and he wasn't cooperating, it was probably safer for him to walk.
