Little Bevis, thanks for your candid post. The good news is that I have not resigned from my current position, but we are in the process of moving so.......... I must admit that I was starting to think there was something wrong with my resume as I have been working hard to get copies in front of recruiters and government contractors with no luck, not even an acknowledgement to say "we received your resume, and are in the process of reviewing applications."
I'm beginning to feel overwhelmed especially since school will resume in August. (Sigh)
Thanks again for your post, it definitely helps to put things in perspective. May I ask what area you live in PA?

Frad76, I am in a similar situation. Moving from MD to PA. (I am 22) I work for Big Navy in DC and I will be keeping that job and commuting from York County, PA to DC every day. There is a Naval Base in Philly, btw.

I am planning on building on land that my family owns rather than rent a 1 BR/ 1 BA for over $1000/mo. Just starting everything right now so I still live in South Central MD so I don't have too much advice, not that you would take it from a 22 year old. Ha-Ha. I hope all goes well and if there is anything I can do for you guys let me know!

Chadd.

Hello Chadd,
I don't believe there is an age limit on knowledge, so your advice is very welcomed
Commuting to DC from PA?! Goodness, hopefully it wont be for a stretched out period.
We are still in the process of planning the details of it all and it can be very overwhelming let me tell you, but I think you and yours would have less challenge moving since you dont have kids yet.
The kids and I did visit the area this past week and stayed for an entire week to get a better feel for Reading and the surrounding areas. It's definitely not DC, but has a quiet feel that can grow on u.

I'm still in search of employment, so every lead is welcomed.

The best of luck to you in your endeavours.

Rashidat
