We are trying to find a home and NJ has pretty much sucked in terms of availability. We are now considering out towards Pottstown and a little higher Boyerstown? Or something.

So my husband works off hours. He works in Delware county between Havertown and Norwood.
he doesn't usually head in/ get to work until around 11-12 and comes home around 7-8. Because of this he usually misses most if not all of rush hour.

How would the commute be during these times? I know rush hour is awful, but would this be as terrible?

We have 4 kids, and really like the schools and available housing out there (after exhausting what's available closer in NJ)

Thoughts? Input?

He would hit some traffic in the morning, but it would be a "reverse commute" so he wouldn't necessarily be fighting traffic. Rt. 422 is bad at rush hour, but not at those times, especially going back to Pottstown, from Delco.

Thank you Pilot1. I think I miswrote though. He's not working nights, so not quite reverse commute. more like drive 10-11am and home 7-8pm.

Oh, OK. Then I still don't think it would be bad. Rt 422 really backs up during normal rush hours 7 - 9, and then like 4 - 6:30 or so.

Morning traffic on 422 eastbound is usually cleared up by 10.

Afternoon traffic on 422 westbound, up to Oaks and sometimes out to Collegeville, is the gift that keeps on giving. But afternoon traffic is always heavier than morning traffic for whatever reason, no matter where you're driving.

Does he really want to commute that far? It's going to take at least an hour.
