I am just waiting for some of our 1099s to come in, and then we will be filing.

Hopefully before the end of next week.

Dittos with the 1099s, W2, gotta wait a couple more weeks. No big deal, but I'm never in any big hurry cause I usually owe the govt some cash. That's a good thing for me, it means I had some good capital gains and dividend income for the year. I am always amazed how many people use an accountant or tax service to prepare their personal income tax, it really isn't that complicated for most people.

With all of my volunteer "stuff" it is easier for me to go to see "herb" he has done a great job for us for 4 years. Not to mention the look on his face when I show up with my huge "zip lock" bag that holds everything. lol one year I used folders and he actually asked "where's the zip bag"
They extended the "sales tax" deduction for this year so with the 2 cars I am hoping for a nice check.
I know everyone will say "if you get a refund it's giving the government a interest free loan" but this works for us.

My W2 is online available to me. It is just the 1099s and to finish closing out the 2007 books for our apartments; then we can file.

How can you file yet? Don't you have to wait to get tax stuff in the mail (stuff about interest on accounts, stuff about your mortgage, etc...)?

I have all my numbers yet but I don't have any of that stuff yet.

My W2 is online.

My bank is online and interest amounts are available to me year around. I do not do any online banking really, but I do monitor my accounts online.

My home is mortgage free, but our apartment building has a mortgage so we need to wait for it [they are not online].

If a person were to cleverly shift all of their stuff to having online access, they could have filed 1Jan08.

Oooh, OK. I'll send 'em in earlier then. Thanks!
