Everytime I have friends or relatives over to visit, they always comment about this eyesore of a house down the street. The entire property is littered with toys, and junk that seems to have been there for years. I don't know if the house is abandoned or what, but I don't see any foreclosure notices or lock boxes on the door, and I have on occasion seen people in the yard. The place is an absolute eyesore and really brings down the image of the entire area. Does anyone know what if anything can be done?

Here's the actual house on google maps:

i think it's best to always at least attempt to speak with the homeowner directly first. otherwise, you should be able to access your municipality's civil code on-line to see if that is prohibited, which it probably is. check for sections dealing with "junk" or "waste disposal". or just call your municipality directly and ask to speak with someone in code enforcement.

from looking at the map, it appears that is probably zoned commercial. it may be that they are permitted to have junk at that location, but they probably have to have a fence around it.
