Now, what is with pronouncing sh sound instead of s, like lasht for last? Sounds like a case of lazy tongue. Is this just a Philly thing too?

Some in Philly pronounce S's like that, just like some in New York don't pronounce the "h" in "th" words.

"Trow a pahty" is something I've heard in north Jersey, near "the city." He got grief for it.

The guy who owns Geno's has a thicker accent than the guy who owns Pat's. Yeah, the guy at 1:55 is urban Northeast, somewhere between Philly and NYC, to my ear.

South Philly? Ha. I went there with my parents to have a meal years ago. We had all our luggage in the trunk of the rental car I had to return to PHL in the next 4 hours. The area looked old and I didn't trust leaving our things in the trunk, even hidden. As we got out, we saw this ancient Italian lady sitting on her steps, she waved at us, and I thought "Eh, our stuff should be ok."

I actually thought I was posting that in the other accent thread. My mistake.

nah, that's not between NYC and Philly. That's stereotypical South Philly.
