Spring Garden, or is it Northern Liberties? (5th and Spring Garden):

Besides this, there were also armed robberies at 5th and Fairmount and 3rd and Spring Garden this week.

Not Spring Garden. Nothing east of Broad St is. To me that's N. Liberties. 3rd and Spring Garden is where the MidAtlantic SSA bldg and FDP headquarters are.

Good job by the police! It was only a matter of time before this monster murdered an innocent person.

Most people in Fairmount/Spring Garden probably had no idea it was going on. I didn't until he got arrested.

It's not good for neighbors to cover up/ignore these sort of crimes. I wonder if residents are trying to protect the neighborhood's reputation ...

What you say could be true but I don't sense a cover up... Just people going on about their lives who probably see it as an anomaly. Unless there's a huge crime wave coming it's not likely to affect the upward mobility/gentrification which is pretty much off the charts now.

The poor people who lived in Spring Garden and Francisville are virtually gone/going. Examples: an old apt building at 18th and Mt Vernon is being gutted and rehabbed. The poorer people who lived there for years were likely evicted. Ugly 1 story houses on N. 19th and 20th Sts north of Fairmount Ave. which had housed poorer residents for years are being torn down and upscale, multi-story townhouses are being built to replace them.
