Let's not forget Nicole Miller.

FKD19124 and 2002 Subaru:

I think I'm the only person over here who posts on both forums.

Philadelphia Speaks never managed to recapture the energy that dissipated when Phillyblog collapsed. The funny thing is, the former board was run by two IT pros and a PR professional (one of those two IT pros is in our list of "100 Most Influential Philadelphians" this month), but the two IT pros understood the importance of maintaining a brand's reputation better than the PR pro did!

At its peak, I think half the city's journalists lurked on Phillyblog.

But if Gabriella Iacovetti continues to post on that board, which she does (as Hospitalitygirl), it's not a "liberal echo chamber." I've known her personally for years and have watched her drift slowly from mainstream liberal to fed-up center-rightist.

And it's because of her that I can say that both of you are snowflakes with this whining.

The stats are what they are, but it's how you then extrapolate from them that makes the difference. And I'm sure you both get what I'm saying here.

And remember, I'm the one who lives in the rough neighborhood. My white friends have visited me here on numerous occasions without incident.

Hey MarketStEL. We still need to meet up and talk neighborhoods!

I agree it was better when it was PhillyBlog and was run by more competent people. I am aware of who Gabriella is and had many horn lockings with her on both PhillySpeaks and its former PhillyBlog. I am not sure when she converted into a " fed-up center-rightist" but my dealings with her were with her left wing rants.

I am far from a whinny snowflake. I just don't tow the line on the popular narratives of the day that are all over the news.
I think the whiny snowflakes are the people who label others as "racist, hater, homophobe, <fill in the blank>" because they
can't stand to hear their point of view challenged. It's a insecurity issue because people like that want to feel superior and smart
and to challenge that just flusters them.

I don't remember what neighborhood you live in but I have seen rough especially where my wife teaches.

Why did the Phillyblog collapse? I miss that and Brad Maule's (who now lives in Mt. Airy) Philly Skyline.

the original owner didn't want to maintain it anymore was the story I got. Philadelphia Speaks was already launched

during the last days of Philllyblog. Also from what I remember people were being booted for the same reasons that Phily Speaks is now a ghost town,

'Snowflake?' Look in the mirror, MSE. You may label it 'whining,' but it doesn't make what we say any less true.
How you turned this into a racial issue, I don't know, but I'm seeing you're not better than that.

I feel your pain. That is why I am a refugee from the Philadelphia Speaks Philadelphia Forum. I was banished from there because of my crimes of telling the people the truth and not being liberal.
People getting banned from boards breaks my personal "free speech" rules. I never block people. I want to hear what people have to say even if it's uncomfortable.
