Go on the Canadian side for the falls. Bring your passport.

If you like sarcastic shows, look up Wonderfalls.

It's not a one day trip. Depending on how you drive it can take a day to get there. Google Maps says 7 hours but it has taken me more like 10 in the past. Depends on how many stops you make along the way.

If you are into Big Ships by any chance, visit the Welland Canal. There are several locks where you can see the water raised and lowered as the cargo ships move across the the Great Lakes. It's quite an interesting bit of engineering. There used to be some viewing platforms and a few museums in the area as well.

I've learned to avoid small towns that bill themselves as historic. Unless one has the time or has nothing else to do, they are not worth a stopover.

There are hundreds if not thousands of such villages across the country and there is nothing to write home about them.

How many days is this trip going to last? Niagara Falls isn't a weekend trip--unless you're somebody's granny and it's on your bucket list.

What have you visited, seen, that you've liked? Perhaps we can suggest something that's a bit closer.
