That being said, 2022 was anything but an underperformance; the completely overachieved.

Also, the 2007 Phillies came in with a similar, somewhat better position than the 2022 team. They squeaked into the playoffs, little experience, and then got swept in the first round by the lower seeded Rockies. Just sayin, not much to fault with the 2022 run outside of the missed opportunity.
Oh, I was happy with the N.L. Pennant ... nice surprise. I'm just tired of Philadelphia teams losing World Series, Super Bowls and Stanley Cups.

I hear you friend. I don't think any City has lost more championship games/series than Philadelphia. The Flyers 7 consecutive Stanley Cup Final losses just might be the worst of any professional sports team.

You didn't say "didn't get it done", you labeled them as "can't get it done". There is a big difference. Only one of those statements has given up and written off this team as losers and chokers. Negadelphia at its best (worst).

Ok, they didn't/can't get it done until they do. I hope they prove me wrong.

I thought it was 6? Montreal, Islanders, Edmonton twice, Detroit and Chicago. Am I missing one?

Phillies are 2-6 in World Series play - Defeated Kansas City (1980) and Tampa Bay (2008). Lost to Boston (1915), Yankees (1950 and 2009), Baltimore (1983), Toronto (1993) and Houston (2022).

Of course the two they won are nice, but it would have been nice to beat a team with a pedigree.

Like how the Eagles beat Green Bay and New England.

In fairness to the Flyers, except for Chicago, the teams they lost to were dynasties.

Way to go, Phils!

Homefield advantage against an 84 win team who has two decent starting pitchers, four guys with 24+ HRs,
one guy with 100+ RBI and maybe one reliever with impressive stats. But, they're hot right now, so, of course, they're dangerous.

Their biggest star is rookie Corbin Carrol who hit 25 HRs, scored a 116 runs, stole 54 bases and has a good looking Asian mom. He can fly.

Phillies in 6, then off to Arlington, Texas.

Joe

A few hot bats and good pitching should get this done.
