Does anyone know what accommodations are usually around the parks outside Phoenix? are there any hotels, or is it just camping? and is the camping organized? or everyone for themselves? are there different places that are more kid friendly than others?

Also, are ALL these parks accessed from off road type roads? meaning unpaved? or are there paved roads that go to these parks, or at least to the parking areas?

I'm not sure what "parks" you are talking about outside Phoenix. At Grand Canyon National Park, yes, there are some hotels. Can you be more specific about where you are specifically asking about?

There are lots of campgrounds around the state, but those aren't "parks" themselves. Many are in the national forests around the state. I don't know what you mean by "organized" camping; generally, it's first come, first served on the camping spots in the campgrounds. Some have more facilities than others, most are on unpaved but graded forest roads.

White Tanks has a developed campground. Lake Pleasant is very developed. Estrella Mountain has camping but when I see RVs there they seem to be mostly parked on the side of the road more than in a campsite. Maybe that is what they like. Check out http://www.maricopa.gov/parks/ for details on all the county parks.

Ft Mc Dowell Regional Park has no hotels really nearby. Here's the information on the park:
