The Sea Life Aquarium at Arizona Mills Mall is another idea.....but, at age 3, he'll probably be very happy playing in a McDonald's play area!

Makutu's island is a fun place for kids to climb and burn energy. Our son was able to do everything when he was 3 but it may be a little intimidating to some children.

Do you have a reason to be here/ location you'll be more of the time than others? Enough indoor play/eat places aside from zoo. I think the aquarium mentioned above is far too expensive for what you get, so I don't think it is worth the entry price. Zoo in Sept should be nice.

Go to Apache Lake in the Tonto National forest. Then rent pontoon boats during a weekday for $25 an hour (1/2 days are $75). The view though the canyon is STUNNING and it is also close to Mesa. This is a must do for anyone who is visiting that also appreciates natural beauty. It's not exactly a busy 3 year old thing to do but you will be glad you did!

I'm am sure I will back many more times in the years to come.
