We just moved here and don't live in the best area but I do want what's best for my kids. I don't know many ppl here and I really would like some help finding the best schools that I can try and enroll my kids in. Next year I will have a 2nd grader, a 7th grader and 2 high school freshman. I cannot afford tuition but I am willing to apply for scholarships.

I would like to find something in the Garfield Neighborhood area. (16th and Van Buren) Or schools that do transportation.

If anyone has sites that might help as well. Ive Googled my butt off and cannot find much help, thanks so much!

There is a Diamondback Charter School at 7th St. and Thomas for the younger, there is another charter at Roosevelt and 16th St., where I tutored Math(s) in the Spring. It is called Phoenix Advantage Charter School. If you want more details, let me know. I've worked at Wilson School District in the past, and was just about the token white person, but it was pretty well run, and Title I, meant more resources than other districts. North High School on Thomas appears to be extremely nasty/ghetto. I've had the mis-fortune of being on the same bus with its students--yikes.
