Could anyone enlighten me about the Korean American population in the Phoenix area?

I've done some research and I can't seem to gauge the exact Korean American population in the area. Are there a lot of Korean specific supermarkets/restaurants/etc?

A quick reveals a couple of restaurants (most in/near Chandler,) and a couple of Korean churches. There's also a Korean language version of the Arizona Times, if that's any indication.

So the SW area sounds like the most Asian-centric city within the PHX area.

Work situation may change, so I have started to dive deeper into the possibility of relocating from Toronto, ON to Chandler, AZ.

thanks for the information, team.

SE not SW (mostly Chandler) , though I doubt anyone who lives here is not aware of Asian ethnicities living near them regardless of where they live. Phoenix is like that. We don't have ethnic neighborhoods like in the eastern US. It's much more mixed up than that.

Agree with this. Yes, there are lots of Asian restaurants of various types, a large Asian grocery, etc., in the Chandler area, but it is not as if there are whole neighborhoods with majority Asian population like one might see elsewhere. Neighborhoods break down by economics, not ethnicity.

I have to echo the sentiment that the SW, Chandler in particular, has lots of Asians living in it. There are no predominately Asian communities that I know of, but there are Asian markets and an entire plaza of various Asian businesses in SW Mesa, I believe. We all live among each other and I like it that way.

You don't mean SW (southwest) you mean Southeast Valley. And that shopping center you mention is actually in Chandler as well (Warner/Dobson intersection). It's not completely Asian, but there is a lot in that area.

Yes, thanks for catching that! It's not wise to type while you're being distracted.

I agree - SE. But, in addition to the plaza with Lee-Lee at Warner and Dobson, there's also Mekong Plaza in Mesa that is nearly all Asian related businesses.

God, how I miss Lee's Sandwiches.

The Dobson Corridor is a heavily Asian corridor, and not just in Chandler, but is now starting to extend into Mesa with the Mekong Plaza.
