Good news for Glendale. Their efforts to stop the casino have taken a second hit. Strike two Glendale. Give it up and work with the Tohono Oodham tribe. You are going to lose again and waste tax payer money on legal fees to fight a losing battle. That casino is going up whether you like it or not.

Ariz. law aimed at halting casino near Glendale struck down

The fine folks of Glendale need to rise up and vote the city officials who support this crap out of office. They're making a joke out of Glendale and wasting precious financial resources to boot.

Would the city of Glendale reconsider if the Tohono O'odham tribe
were to purchase the Coyotes

They seem to have the disposable cash

They've already the purchase enough claim in the Coyotes to make the deal legal and burdon free on taxpayers. Glendale, of course, nixed the idea.

I don't see the problem here with the casino...is it really close to a residential neighborhood? Why are they so against it?

Then again, if one were to be built across the street from where I live, I probably wouldn't like it but just because the increased traffic that would come with it. The fact that CCV is right at the intersection close to where I live irks the crap out of me whenever they have an event/hold services...it backs up traffic like crazy, there's always cops directing traffic...it's a mess.

Color me cynical, but I think that Glendale's opposition has more to do with control questions - which politicians and developers get payoffs, preferred treatment, campaign money, free tickets - than it does the "family values" BS they are projecting. This is Arizona. Greasing palms and back room deals is the way business gets done. Glendale wants to run the show and control the flow. The tribe is not playing the game the way Glendale wants it to be played. I expected a shift in Glendale's position with Ellman out of the way. Maybe it will come yet.

I agree. It's not about family values. Scottsdale and Chandler both have casinos and it has not negatively impacted their communities, quite the opposite actually. It's fear mongering
