We haven't turned A/C on yet, usually don't have to until May. House has been getting up to about 80-83 during the day but been able to cool it off quickly as soon as the sun sets to the 70's using window fans. in the summer we set it to 82 or so during the day and 78 at night after the lower cost hours start on the time of use plan.

It would take some compelling evidence to convince anybody that 65 is unreasonable as room temperature is supposed to be around 72-78.

There are ways to break a lease at minimal costs, but I'm gonna be blunt, Arizona is not kind to tenants in the landlord-tenant relationship.
72 to 78 is so stuffy though. I used to keep mine at 65.Now the main thermostat hangs out at 70 and I utilize fans. 65 without a fan is still pretty ideal...If I ever decide to rent out my extra bedroom, I'll be sure to inform them they can close the vent.

78. trying to adjust to 79 so I can creep it up to 80. It takes time to adjust, but last year it was 78 day and night, probably will be 78-79 day and night this year as well. Let us hope for a cooler summer this year!

May is my lowest electric bill because I set it off in May. It still goes on heat at night and i am in south Alabama.

The south is generally not too hot this time of year usually. We've been about 80 for months now here it seems.

Depends on the housing Construction.

I had a stucco cracker box that would need the A/C on almost all day to keep it bearable inside. It was/is the worst house I've ever lived in (KB Homes). It was already getting to 80 last month in it.

I have an older brick home right now that only needs the air on at night (and even then that's just my preference as I don't like sleeping when I'm hot).

I had a masonry home in Tucson for years that only needed the air on in June (IMO the hottest month of the year) It was all tile, had a cool roof, had brick borders around the windows, shades etc. it was perfect for this environment.

I'm a bit jealous. then I looked there five years ago. What I imagine, something like a small town of thirty years ago in the South is not there, as far as i as shown?
