Maybe sales are picking up out there. People are still coming here by the boatload and, if this forum is any indication, there is a lot of interest in Maricopa because of the more affordable prices.

The month of December, to me, seems like the ideal time to buy since the builders will want to get homes out before the year ends... On the other hand, I don't see how prices can go much lower... the base price for a 1600+ SF home is only $142K, the smallest home is $125K... any lower and the mortgage payments would be CHEAPER than the $800 for the typical rent. So, I don't know...
They will go as low as they need to.

I think there probably is some pent up demand out there. No doubt the builders are hoping that by raising prices they'll get some of the fence sitters, who have been waiting for the market to bottom out, back in and buying.

I wonder how the inventory numbers are looking?

With prices that low in Anthem, I am surprised those goofy investors have not flooded back here. I have to wonder why sales are so slow there and picking up in Maricopa. Outside the 17 freeway, it is very pretty up there.

He's talking about the Anthem in Florence. Yeah, if they were that low in the Anthem up north I'd think about buying (if I didn't have to commute!!).

Figures. I would be one of the "goofy" investors rushing back there too. Thanks for the education. I did not realize there were two Anthems.

Yeah, I didn't know either until I had a poster jump down my throat about it, saying that I should know.

To the OP - One thing that would really make all the difference is if you have kids. I've read through and can't find any reference to children. I heard that interest rates dropped a little and that the gov is planning another drop to boost home sales. Wouldn't this help the housing market?
