Wow that's crazy. I grew up here and I am still freezing. In the summer we keep it at 80 but do hold off as long as humanly possible. We have two ac units and dislike the bill.

Not running the A/C yet.

Warmest house got today was 75.

My house was built in 2001 w/double pane windows too. No sun screens or shutters. Thing that helps me the most is N/S exposure. Two story house + big shade trees on west side of home.

For me it is just laziness. I'd have to go around and shut all the windows upstairs, turn AC on until it has cooled down a few degrees, then turn it off and go around opening the windows back up.

It is just barely too warm, not a big deal so I'd rather just leave the windows open if possible.

Wow this is amazing. We purchased a Shea Home Last year and so far the inside of our home reached a blazing 73 degrees! (bit of sarcasm)! We generaly keep the doors open during the daytime 'cause we both love the air flow. At night we sleep with the bedroom window open which keeps the bedroom a cool 65. We wake up in the morning and the rest of the house is 68. Just let mother nature do her thing especially this time of year before the summer hits! And Yes HX_Guy we do use our windows! Lovin life in Az!

Man, are you a home salesman for them? Just so you and others know, most times those energy star ratings are bogus, just a come-on sales brochure kind of thing.
How do I know this?
We owned one and had heat/cooling issues which led to me and some neighbors researching what it takes to get certified.

Turning on the air? Nope. Opening up the doors and windows and enjoying the fresh air. Wonnerful a wonnerful.

I am not yet in AZ, still in Louisiana and our temps are about the same, I'm about to turn on the AC, today was SO nasty humid I was drenched in sweat just standing outside. I do know we have insulation and issues with duct work in our house so maybe you have the same issues. On the other hand, our house will say it's 75 inside but we'll be cold, when it's 40's outside. I would suspect maybe a bit of issue there...

Or we both are having hot flashes
