Gilbert is, overall, a very nice, upper middle class town. The last stats I saw showed Gilbert's average salary was around the low/mid 70's, I think, which was higher then many other valley cities listed. I can tell you for certain that Gilbert is most certainly NOT the "ghetto" and is also not filled with rental properties which, as we all know, lead to bad tenants

Those numbers seem very high to me but I'd be very interested in seeing a complete breakdown of the crimes.

Gilbert is a boring sprawling burb with tons of strip malls and fast food joints. It's not a ghetto.

I tried to avoid the place when I lived in Phoenix but the few times I was down there it seemed the police were like any other suburban police force; they spend their time with petty crime and pestering people about minor things. Annoying but hardly dangerous.

There were 4,272 violent and property crimes reported in Phoenix last month. That does not include underage drinking, DUIs, criminal traffic violations, etc.

Note too that the City of Phoenix alone has about 1.5 million people vs. Gilbert's 200K odd residents.

And in all fairness; significant parts of Phoenix flat suck, to be crass.

****WOW****

From what I know, Gilbert is considered a very family friendly type of place. I doubt it has a lot of violent crime. Most likely property crimes (snowbird owned property) and DUI's.

Funny, I just overheard someone saying Gilbert is the next Scottsdale the other day.

Those numbers really surprise me, though.
