Most people in Phoenix adapt by doing their outdoor activities (including yard work) at the break of dawn.

There are two factors at work:

1) Phoenix is one of the most car-centric cities in America. So it's the culture.

2) All those who claim they are not bothered by the heat suspiciously dissapear when it is most prominent. So it's the heat.


This may be obvious to you from your research PHX has higher ground (mesas, buttes, mini-mountains) IN TOWN so you should be able to see nearby possibles as you familiarize yourself with the area
