Was out trimming my palm trees and i got jabbed pretty good by one of the barbs. Now my finger hurts like a son of a gun!!

Them thorns do hurt though.

Thanks F40, I don't know one palm tree from another so when my finger went numb I was a little concerned.
I've heard that about Holiday Inn Express :-)

No, palm trees are not poisonous, however, that doesn't mean an injury doesn't require medical help. Only you can determine that.

Watch out for agave... I got one in the knee hiking out in Estrella and my knee swelled up to the size of a grapefruit!

Pigeons like to hang out on the fronds - I'm sure pigeon droppings in a wound would not be a good thing.
Keep an eye out for infection.

Yup. My parents had an issue with a huge flock of pigeons always hanging around their property.

A pair of red-tail hawks decided to set up housekeeping nearby - no more pigeon problem.

Lots of pigeon feathers in the alley behind my parents house...
