This is one thing that bewilders me. Why can't I find any NY/NJ or California quality Chineese Food? I figured that there would more Chinese people here in the valley 'cause of the close proximity to La. , Diego, and Frisco! Been here for a little over a year and a half and much to my Chrigrin I have yet to find Really, Really, Really Good Chineese. Found one place on Indian School that had great fried rice but as far as the rest of the food.................. eeeeeh.......... it was so so! Found another place on Dysart near Camelback that was pretty good as long as it was eaten in house ....but the food became soggy when you bought take out. A few other places were just .................eat here once and never again! As big of a city as Phoenix is I figured there would be many top shelf Chineese Restaurants. I know this is probably a redundant thread................... and I either need to lower my standards and expectations or ............ just keep my mouth shut and save my Chineese Food indulgences for my trips back east or to the west coast!! I crave Moo Shu Pork, General Tso's chicken, Wonton Soup, Beef and Broccolli and a variety of other delicaciesthat I am afraid to try it for fear of a major disapointment? My neighbor down the street has the same dellima as me ....oh and by the way he is also from the East(NYC). Can somebody hook me with a "quality Chineese Restaurant" or at least give me the names of some adventerous Chineese People that would like to open up a Quality Place waay out here in the west valley! I know somebody will say that's part of my problem is that I live in the west valley......... not so I'm willin to travel.........if the food is worth it! Besides the east valley is alot closer then NJ/NY or Cali!
Thanking you in advance for your help.......even if it may be something I would rather not here! So it's ok to have some fun with this!!

OMG I was going to ask the same thing! I'm so desperate for decent Chinese that I ate some here at Newark airport while I'm waiting for my flight back to Phoenix. And if you've ever had the Chinese here you know that's desperation!

The very best we found in Hawaii. Can find some good food in San Francisco, but Hawaii beats them as well. We just do not eat Chinese food here.

I've dined in Chinatown in NYC. The food wasn't any better than anywhere else.

I agree...I've had the schlack in the northeast and the west coast regularly since i've started travelling a ton for work...I've got to say...get over yourselves. The chinese food that is whipped up in nyc, la, sf, or wherever is made by the same guys that leave china and roll over here to get away from that turd hole. If you want some good quality stuff in the valley though I'm going to recommend Khai Hoan in Tempe. It's a Vietnamese place and I swear to you it rivals the pho in vietnam.

We found the China Grill at 75th ave and Thunderbird to be the best, IOP, Chinese on the West side.
