The author, Barbara Yost is clearly smoking crack. She mentioned being nickel and dimed for bread, bland tapenade, slow and awkward service, receiving the wrong pizza (!) and over-sauced gnocchi and yet gave them a decent 3.5 stars. Not to mention being kicked out two years ago for merely walking in with Pita Jungle carryout boxes. What an absolutely horrible review; a real disservice to anyone that simply sees the star rating without reading the content.

I'm well aware of how they work (or don't) in Maricopa County when it comes to inspections. Short staff, constantly rotating staff and bizarre/lack of rule enforcement.
Not to get too far O.T. but did y'all know that how they enforce is highly controlled by ethnic group considerations?
A part of me feels sorry for the inspectors, more feels sorry for the eating public.
I used to have a job as a service tech for commercial dish machines.. of the units that sanitize with sodium hypochlorate (bleach), probably 50%+ fail to sanitize properly. The biggest reason is cheap owners trying to save money on sanitizer, by substituting bleach from the dollar store. The machines are typically calibrated for a 10% bleach solution, and dollar-store bleach is often only 1-2%.

After a short time on the job, I started cooking at home a lot more. The only thing that amazes me about food safety is that we arent all dead of food poisoning. If you know what to look for, you could walk into ten random restaraunts and find serious issues with nine of them.

Well said, I got the same impression. I saw the headline and read the article and I was like "I thought you gave this 3.5 stars?" Her review contradicted the rating she gave it which makes you wonder if she gave it 3.5 stars just to attract attention whereas the review suggests it's 2 stars at best

Gotta give Amy and Samy credit for two things:

1. They know how to keep their name in print (remember the saying "there's no such thing as bad publicity")

2. Her hair always looks great.
