On the subject of spherical or otherwise round structures, does anyone remember the dirigibles including the "flying saucer" on Williams Field Road between Chandler and Williams AFB? Late 70s.

I do remember the dirigibles being constructed on Williams Field Rd. until a dust storm totally destroyed all their work in the 70's. Below is a link to a Higley blogspot with the complete story about it.

In July 1980 as an ROTC cadet we were bussed past the site of the airship on our way from ASU to Williams AFB for our incentive flights before our return to training in CA... the couple of fellow cadets who were actually awake (it was the proverbial "O-Dark-Thirty") wondered what that empty frame was. I can't place the exact location except it was the south side of Williams Field Road. Maybe Greenfield or Val Vista?

Does anyone know any former employees of Frenchy's Shrimp House? I've been looking for years!

I grew up in North Phd (Bell rd out in the desert until the 70's)

Did you ever talk with your Grandmother about Frenchy's Shrimp sauce recipe? Still can't get that delicious place out of my mind. She must have loved the place to stay 13 years. What wonderful memories!

When I discovered clothes at about the age of 11, it was a real treat to get taken to Hanny's to pick out a shirt or jacket for a special occasion.

Old Beef Eaters in the 60's with its waffle roof. All gone now and a new building in place. I do not know what it is going to be though.
