That happened when Krispy Kreme opened here in California for the first time several years a go.

Now that location is closed - the novelty wears off.

Harrier needs to hit the Portillo's in Buena Park one of these days.

Its alright, not going to lie though, regularly hearing former Chicagoans talk about how awesome it was over there and how great this that and the other thing was, how much better it is than Phoenix, kind of gets on my nerves, like if it was so awesome, why are you here?

ahhhh, words of wisdom in my view.

And to take the point further.....I don't think it should matter if it's Phoenix metro compared to City A, City B to City C, etc......why not enjoy what's unique about the place one is in and stop trying to make a place into something else/where one was previously from? Most of us are living in a place because we enjoy its unique "feel"/attributes, not focusing on it's missing this, that, it's not like city A, B, C, dah dah dah.

And if a place is missing one to many pieces that are important to an individual?.....probably time to move on. Life is short.

I knew it wasn't hype, but then I've been going there for years. My first job was at one in high school in 1994. This thread is making me want to go there for lunch today...

I don't recall reading anybody's post on this topic that said that Chicago was awesome - only that Portillo's is awesome - and it is! At least to those who are from the Chicago area.
