I'm visiting from the east coast on a business trip and there's been a drum banging in the distance for the last hour, along with some kind of chanting or singing. I can't see what it is from here.

Anyone know what the heck is going on?

You probably heard something from the 24th Annual Heard Museum World Championship Hoop Dance, which was today, although it seems like it would be over by now. That's about a mile or so from downtown, but I am closer than that I didn't hear anything.

It's over now, but until about 9:30 or so, there was some pretty loud drumming in the distance. I'm on the 12th floor of an apartment my company owns, with the windows open, and it sounded like it was coming from the vicinity of the YMCA area.
