I live in this area and commute to north Scottsdale. The 101 is horrible. I use Deer Valley and save lots of time and stress.

Another vote for Norterra Happy Valley area. Clean, new, no crime, great roads, lots of services and shopping closeby and a very quick commute to work in PHX. I love it in the Norterra area, just moved here 3 months ago.

Hey Connaught,

Did you buy a house up there?

I'm sorry I really have to call you on the "no crime" comment. Do you have facts to back that up? No place on earth has no crime. Yes, it is an upscale area, but it does have some crime as every place does. Everything else you have mentioned is true.

To the OP, it really depends on your preferences as to what you are looking for in a home. You did not give a lot of detail on the home itself. Do you want a new build or older home? How old of a home is acceptable to you? Some people like only new communities. Others like older, well established communities. You can find safe areas and good schools with both choices. As previously mentioned, Anthem and Moon Valley both fit the bill. So do Deer Valley and Arrowhead. Just depends on your preferences in age of home, school systems and commute time. All are convenient to the 101 and I 17 area and amenities of the big city.

OP. These areas are ideal for your requirements.
