Dishwasher & Cloudy glasses

It's the hard water -- minerals. A water softener is the best way to attack the problem, as that will give you soft water throughout the house -- Water heaters and coffee makers will last longer, sinks, toilets, tubs, faucets and showers will stay cleaner, laundry will need less soap, shaving will be easier, etc., etc., etc.

Or, as others have said, you can add softening agents to your dishwasher or use different soap, etc. that will soften the water in the dishwasher.

You can clean your cloudy glasses by soaking them in vinegar.

My last few water softeners have been Sears models. They're cheap and don't last too many years, so if you go with Sears get the extended warranty with it -- for as many years as possible.
