Our home has the washer & dryer hook ups in the garage...we have new front loaders & I always try to get the clothes in the dryer immediately after it's finished. I also always leave the washing machine door open when not used to help "air it out." With the heat lately I've started to notice a really odd smell, almost musty. Is this from the moisture in the machine & the heat in the garage? Do any of you have tips on preventing this during the PHX heat? I've run multiple cleaning cycles with vinegar but I can't seem to get rid of it

I wouldn't leave the door open, I'd imagine a bunch of dirt would get in the machine. The heat/dirt/humidity of the garage will really wear your nice new appliance.

I have a Neptune front loading washer. When finished using the machine, I always wipe the door gasket dry, then leave the door open (my machines are inside the house). If I don't wipe it dry, mildew develops. Maybe that's the smell? Check out this article about similar issues. How to prevent smelly mold buildup in front-loading washers
