Why not be unique and move from San Diego to Seattle, or Denver. You can be a sunbird.
I still disagree with their line of reasoning. Just because they don't like rain and snow, doesn't mean that others feel the same way.

You're dreaming if you think there are going to be any cool spots in Phoenix in the summertime.

A large percentage of the people here don't care for the heat but I'll bet nearly the same percentage would say it's better than dealing with intense humidity, severe thunderstorms, below-zero temperatures, and heavy snowstorms.

Sometimes it's a tradeoff, you have to pick the lesser of the evils because no city has perfect weather all the time.

That isn't true for everyone.

Yes. All of the valley gets hot, as previously stated. Cave Creek is just a few degrees cooler usually.

Because it gets so hot and humid in Iowa and Illinois Just my experience, neighbors are from Iowa and they complain all the time about the heat. Whereas my good friends from Dallas love the weather here just like me; yeah it's hot in the afternoon but I prefer the Phoenix heat over the summers in Texas.

To be fair there are no parts in Chicago or NYC that stay cool during the summer either. It's just hot and humid, not any better or worse than Phoenix. That's just how it is.

If you water your lawn between say midnight to 4AM and then step outside, you may say you have a pocket of cool air in this hot Valley.

actually, in Chicago, in the summer time, if the wind is coming from the east, the temps along the lakefront can be 20 degrees or more cooler than they are inland...if the air temp is 95, and the lake water temp is 75, thats what it will feel like near the lake..
