I think if you wanted to save some bandwidth, a better title for this thread would be, "Is There Anyone Who Isn't MAD At Cox?"

OK, I signed up for CL 40 mBps internet service last night. Some first impressions:
1. I thought Cox' service / support was bad, but CL certainly is way worse. Their waiting times on the phone and chat are waaay longer. Last night I was 30 minutes on hold and then gave up. The only chat they are quick with is to sign you up. After that I tested the "billing services" chat and I was in line at #40ish and 30 minutes later drpped to 15ish and then gave up.
2. My only hope for CL is that the service works relatively trouble-free so i never have to use the support (yeah I know...). I'll find out during the first 30 day period and then make a decision.
3. They will have to send you the modem/router for rent to sign you up even if you have one. I'll have to send it back and lose the $15 handling fee. Talk about what a nonsense.
My service will start in a few days so I'll let you guys know. So far the experience is not great with either Cox or CL.

Time of day makes a huge difference when you call CL - I've had both long & really short calls to CL - curiously, one of my fastest calls was at like 3pm (I expected a looooong wait & it was less than five minutes)..
my CL service has been rock solid for a couple years now. Other than having to call & ask for a new "promo" every year, I haven't ever had to call.
