I just heard some teams' pitchers and catchers are starting to report.

Many years ago, mid 80's, I spent a delightful week in Phoenix during Spring Training.

All the games started at 12:00 and if I remember right, admission was $1.00. It was really low key. I would read the morning paper over coffee and decide which game to attend and away I went. I really had a good time.

For those attending spring training games this year, have fun!

Yep pitchers and catchers reported today. Ticket prices are much more than a $1 now but they're still reasonable.

Yeah, different environment. Fancier parks, higher ticket prices, bit still a lot of good value/experience options.

Plus ASU softball/baseball is underway and they are a great time

It was really nice years ago. You could walk up and get a box right behind home plate. Meet the players, get autographs. Now it is all big stadiums, parking hassles, high ticket prices, reservations through Tickermaster for popular teams (or huge lines), and gouging on concessions. Like most things that once were great in Arizona, it got loved to death.

We just went on Ticketmaster.com and got our tickets for all the Yankees, Mets and St. Louis Games. Then we picked up several (much cheaper!!) Spring Training tickets. You can see the whole schedule there. http://www.ticketmaster.com/browse/b...orts_header_l1

I love going to the Spring Training games. It's so beautiful here this time of year and so nice to get out there and hear, "Batter batter batter!" Kids with parents, people in suits with briefcases playing hooky from work, families and singles just hangin' out. Best time of year in PHX, IMHO.

Already bought some Spring training tix and my boy has been practicing for baseball 6 hours a week for over a month now, unlike these namby-pamby MLB players that still haven't started.

MLB discovered it could be a revenue source rather than a player development cost operation.
