So let me see...

1. Received military orders to the West Valley.
2. Bought a house for my family to live in where I was serving in the military.
3. Economy collapsed.
4. Discharged from the military with my house underwater and unable to sell (without bailing on my responsibilities and giving it back to the bank).
5. Got the closest job I could find to my underwater house which unfortunately equals the long commute.

Yeah, I see what you mean about it being my fault. I could have quit making payments and foreclosed like everyone else. Lesson learned...

My point was that your commute is 'your problem', not the 'Governor's problem'

I don't think you understand how the system works...I'm a taxpayer, the highway was paid for by taxpayers. I pay exorbitant licensing fees to maintain those highways so I can commute. My commute is the elected Governor's problem.

I'm not even going to touch that, people's commutes are not the states problem. I pay the same taxes as you, and I don't expect the world handed to me for it

Peoples commutes are certainly the states problem...that is why they spend billions of dollars planning and building roadways for growth and to improve commutes.

Oh that's right, you expect everyone to live within 10 minutes of their job and if they have to get a new job for one reason or the other they need to immediately sell their existing house and move to where the new job is regardless of their personal circumstances...because you did it.

Makes a lot of sense.

ADOT announced the closure...gave the time when it will be back open. Why would they say 'Hey it's closed due to a very popular movie franchise being filmed there!" and possibly drawing more drivers to the area to check it out? I've already seen on other forums people talking about trying to get access to the area to watch the filming.
I actually saw this (Loop 303) trending on Facebook and Twitter. Most of the comments were positive, and yes, there were a few people who admitted they were going to try to be in the area during filming.

BTW for those of you wondering, the current widening project for Loop 303 (Bell Road to Happy Valley Parkway) may be nearing completion by the end of the month. On the ADOT Facebook page, one comment mentioned final pavement striping to take place there in the next couple weeks. Mostly just signage and landscaping left after that.

It is a macroproblem, not a microproblem. That is why this 303 closure is not a big deal, it maybe affects like 3% of commuters tops

I think I'd rather take a detour and have the jobs, thank you.

Portions of a major Miami bridge were shut down multiples times for several movies when we lived there. The Seven Mile Bridge was shut down when True Lies filmed. Given there's no alternate route for folks living down that way, that really sucked. Dealy Plaza was shut down for a couple of days last fall for shooting on a JFK miniseries. This even required that DART buses be rerouted. You guys will get over it. You have alternate routes.

Misappropriation of this public highway for a private venture is just one more example of government kowtowing to special interests over the needs of working people - and the willingness of the people to accept it as long as it does not affect them personally.
