Huge store where the old Pennys outlet used to be in AZ Mills. I think it's called At Home.
At Home | Any Style, Any Budget, Any Reason to Redecorate | Home Décor | Furniture | Housewares or something. Maybe you will find what you need there.

If you like HomeGoods, then you will love Hobby Lobby. I intentionally wait until they have their 50% off sales. The shift these sales from topic to topic. Sign-up for their email list and you get a 40% off on a single item. They send those out weekly. FYI, they are closed on Sundays.

Gotta respect a place that's closed on Sundays!

Target has some decent things.

You can also sign up for mailings from JoAnn Fabrics and Michaels, then just go when you have a 50% off coupon and get decorative items one at a time.

You can go to Goodwill and get a bunch of things and then paint them all the same color.

You can do some inexpensive abstract paintings yourself. Use the coupons I mentioned.

Why? That's when a lot of people have time to shop. Seems inconvenient.

Yes, but they do not care. Their religion mandates the closure. I assume it's Mormon. They want Sunday to be a day for church and family. Does not seem to hurt their business in the least.

For those who have good luck in thrift stores, I'm wondering what areas of the Valley have the best thrift stores. The ones I've been to in the southeast Valley (Tempe and Mesa) haven't had good stuff.

I like a store called Thriftiques in Tempe. You might like it too depending on your style.

If you aren't sure about IKEA just take a look at their catalog online. They have all their products there.

You didn't mention Burlington Coat Factory with TJ Maxx and Ross so I'm wondering if you knew about it. They are like TJ Maxx and Ross but with a much bigger selection. The stores are in multiple locations throughout the Valley. In order I like Burlington, TJ Maxx, and then Ross.

I know you didn't mention furniture, but someone else mentioned American Furniture Warehouse and we've found it is the most inexpensive place to buy new furniture. There are some decorative things there but it doesn't seem to be their primary focus.

You assume wrong. The owners of Hobby Lobby, the Green family, are evangelical Christians.
