I'm looking for recommendations for stores to purchase inexpensive home decor, besides your typical Ross and TJ Maxx (not that there's anything wrong with those places). Mostly art, vases, etc....anyone know of places? I haven't ever been to Ikea but I'm pretty certain they won't have what I am looking for.

Anyone ever been to Potato Barn and how are their prices?

Thanks!

I love HomeGoods, which is owned by TJ Maxx. It's an entire store of discounted home decor items - bedding, towels, curtains, dishware, pillows, rugs, art, lamps, small furniture...I always find a cart full of things I "need" when I go there!

Everything is online now (Wayfair, etc) but if you want a physical store and you're ok with cheap stuff check out Kirkland's. Places like America's furniture warehouse and living spaces have decor too.

Z Gallerie has some decent accent pieces. I like some of West Elm's stuff as well.

I don't know if you have them in AZ - but Pier one Imports and World Market are both decent... I like Home Goods too (as MrsMac referenced)

I was going to suggest thrift stores, but I avoid Goodwill like the plague. The prices are outrageous! I prefer the local thrifts that benefit animal rescue groups or Deseret Industries. The store on Broadway in Mesa is probably the nicest, cleanest, best organized thrift store I have ever been in!

Epic Thrift and Savers are hit or miss, but they also have a large selection.

Thanks for the suggestions! I am definitely not opposed to thrift stores so I will check them out, in addition to the others

In addition to the thrift stores (and the avoidance of Goodwill of Central AZ, but because they are shysters who pay themselves big bucks and don't use the income towards charitable missions), I was also going to suggest Craigslist and the other apps that have popped up lately. I sell and occasionally buy on OfferUp, but I don't know if it's popular in AZ.

There is a great stretch of thrift stores along Cave Creek Road, I try to cruise that way now and then! This includes but is not limited to a The Shops on Cave Creek Rd at 11649 N Cave Creek Rd. There is a Halo Animal rescue Shop, a cool place called the Man Cave, as well as several other resell/thrift/antique places at that location.

There are MANY other thrift and vintage stores scattered all along Cave Creek as well.

Edit:

There is a cool place on Northern near 12th Street Called Sunnyslope Vintage and Resale that's kind of fun if you are out thrifting. It just depends on what you are looking for.
