I am a 66 year old woman looking to move (retire) to Scottsdale. I still love biking, gardening and a bit of night life. I plan to work part time and looking to live in an upscale apartment. Any advice on where in Scottsdale to look?
Visiting soon!

Have you been here before? There are many luxury apartments in Scottsdale. Whats your budget?

There are many wonderful neighborhoods here in Scottsdale that may meet your needs. I have been here 15 years and wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

If you would tell us a little more about your plans you will get plenty of responses and suggestions.

My budget is 1200 to 1500 for a 2 bedroom. I have been to Phoenix many times but never spent lots of time in the surrounding areas. I plan to visit soon to check out neighborhoods. Scottsdale sounds more like my life style at this time.

You should have no problem finding something quite nice in that price range. Welcome to AZ! Do your best to conserve our precious water. ;-)

If you like the greenery scenery, take a look at McCormick Ranch. Its "perfectly central" Scottsdale. Many folks from out of state love it because it's not as deserty as most areas of town. There's TONS of bike trails in the area, and just 10 minutes from Old Town Scottsdale with all the restaurants and night life. Maybe something like the Avana or Monaco Complexes?

In addition to McCormick Ranch, I would say Gainey Ranch, and more north at Grayhawk... wow so many are moving from NY/NJ area - including yours truly! never regretted the decision, just the decision to leave in 2000 and taking 13 years to come back!

We are also northeasterners evaluating a move.

That McCormick Ranch/Gainey Ranch area is lovely, reasonably priced, and convenient. We've been interested in it, as well. The access to the walking/biking trails might be a major perk for you.
