As others have said, I think you'll do really well here and although I'm not part of the LGBT community I have many friends and coworkers who are and they've all mentioned Phoenix being a very open and welcoming place to all. Hopefully it works out for you, let us know how the visit goes.

I don't know if I can help you adjust, straight guy here formerly from SF...

Bbut the main thing is that Arizona is nature, and nominally culture. The internet makes everyone potentially intelligent, irrespective of locale. But the main thing about Arizona is understading the pre-eminence of the land. The land, the climate, and the attending limitations implicit in the place, the fact that it is among the hottest places on the planet...and you learn to adapt or die...

Your depression in the avenues when the fog hug the sky for 7 weeks does not compare to the 7 month punishment of heat and light to the denizens of the Northern Sonoran...

Oh the insanity, it's so hot at 52 degrees right now and in the 70s/60s last night as we were out walking around the city. How does anyone even stand the 7 months of torture.

PUHLEASE, grow some thicker skin and get outta here with this 7 months nonsense there's 3 or 4 hot months if you really stretch it and you can still easily get outside most of that time by waking up early or going at night, you just have to avoid the heat of the day.

The beautiful Sonoran desert is nearly in full bloom right now, creeks and waterfalls are running all over the place, the normally dry salt river is flowing right through town. I can't imagine being anywhere better right now then right here. Get outside and enjoy the beauty, my god man.

Not to derail this into another weather discussion but...weren't the mailboxes melting in Oklahoma last year? I don't know about "Hottest places on Earth" I am sure that the Middle East and most of Africa is probably hotter than we are...but I saw plenty of 100+ degree days across the US the past few years so take that...minus the humidity...and there you go.

Wait...nevermind...it's hot here, don't move here, you'll spontaneously combust.

Does anyone know of any Credit Unions located near any of the light rail stops near Midtown, or Downtown PHX that may be hiring in early 2018?

THANK YOU! SO OVER THE YOU'LL DIE IN THIS HEAT AND THE SUN IS SO STRONG - No one is forcing anyone to live here - plenty of people would love to be in your shoes! Weather is not part of my conversation anymore - living in NJ - we always had to worry about planning events with rain dates - and it's friggin 30degrees now - for those that love that - THAT'S GREAT I'M HAPPY FOR YOU - but I don't miss it for one minute! If I want snow I'll go for a day trip to Flagstaff in the winter where it has more snow than most areas - weekend getaways so much to choose from Pine, Flag, Prescott, CA, Rocky Point etc
