Hi there!

Just wondering, how built up is Litchfield? Is it fairly vacant as far as shopping and restaurants go? My understanding (right or wrong) is it is just starting to be developed into a large community and you have to travel a ways for shopping, etc.

Oh...one more thing...are Gilbert and Glendale comparable areas as far as 'quality of living'--for lack of a better term! Would you definitely pick one over the other?

Thank you all so much for any input!

I think it really depends on your perspective. We moved to Goodyear, but daughter attends Litchfield Elementary School. There is more than enough shopping for us and more is coming. There is absolutely no lack of shops/restaurants here. Of course, other areas have much more shopping. We've lived all over the U.S. and I'm suprised at what people here consider minimal shopping centers. The only time I've gone shopping outside of Goodyear/Litchfield is when I go shopping in Scottsdale for more unique items such as furnishings and home accessories. Throw in the shopping in Tolleson and I'm set. Are there certain types of stores you are looking for?

Not anything in particular, just your typical stuff you'd like in order to keep your life running from day to day. Groceries, drugstores, bakeries, fast food...ya know, typical stuff like Wal-Mart! I doreally like home furnishing stores, though. I guess I didn't realize Goodyear was that close to Litchfield.

We live close to Litchfield/Indian School, in Goodyear. We have 2 Super Wal-Mart s, Target, Lowes, Home Depot, numerous grocery stores, video rental places, pharmacies, every fast food place, numerous restaurants all within 5 miles of our house. I can't even think of all the places. We have a Lifetime Fitness that is amazing. The Phoenix area is LOADED with shopping. We have no mall out here, but I would rarely go anyway. We do have JC Penney. I think there are already too many opportunities to spend our money
