Literally get yourself a car, any car that works, and your quality of life would grow tenfold. The rest is up to you. I knew a guy in my younger years who purchased a $200 Honda Civic Wagon 1986? and it worked for about 10 months while he saved for a better car.

You could spend 1500 just to get it to pass emissions testing.

I appreciate all the kind words. Without going into to many details this might be my last chance at happiness.

Well...hit Indeed and check out IT Tech positions open. Looks like the City of Scottsdale is hiring...and if you are looking at staying at the YMCA...they are hiring as well. UHaul is usually looking (downtown), Insight, WWT, Axon (Taser), bunch of places. General IT LAN Technicians should be around $40k+ so you should be fine depending on your financial situation.

Why is this your last chance at happiness? Are you running away from something, someone or ? When you think about it, is moving going to solve these problems? It sounds to me like there is some underlying motive you may not have disclosed. That's ok. But think about it and determine if this move will really help you in the way you want. JMHO

Look in Tempe along Apache Blvd between Rural Rd and McClintock. There are cheap apartments there and Apache Blvd is along the light rail. You can also find room mates there using Craig's list and Airbnb if necessary. Apache Blvd turns into Main Street in Mesa and you can find cheap apartments there close to the light rail. Use zillow.com to help you find rentals. The light rail spans from Downtown Mesa, through Downtown Phoenix. You should be able to find a job quickly. Throw your resume up on dice.com and monster.com and recruiters will contact you. Good luck and welcome!
And you didn't have a car?
