Agree, the last time we had those doughy blase' tasting stick in your throat finger sandwiches they looked exactly like those in the picture.
After all their east coast hoopla we were extremely disappointed.

White Castle is not an East Coast company.

This is a momentous event in Phoenix history! Almost as big as the first Krispy Kreme donut shop in the Valley! If you believe the hype (and there is a lot of it), people will give up Durant's and Ruth's Chris and head to White Castle. Yeah.

I didn't say they were an east coast company. When we were in New York and heard all their hoopla is when we tried them. Yuk.
They have places all over the world these days.

I thought they had tried AZ for a while years ago. Went broke. With the quality of their burger and the fast food choices we already have, that is no surprise.

Well at least all the long time Phoenix residents who imagine that there was ever a White Castle in the valley when they were young will be quiet and go get a sack of sliders.

Being a transplant from the frozen tundra for many years, I'm excited
once a year I'd do a frozen just for the taste and memory flashback.

I always remember Grandma using them minus the pickle for here stuffing

I'm pretty sure there are enough people from back east that will keep
the store afloat.

I believe that as well. The wide selection of Arizona burgers should send these "white castle" thingies sliding on back from whence they came within a reasonably short amount of time.

Generally speaking, they put White Castles in the lower income areas of town. They sell their frozen burgers to Walmart and Family Dollar.

There are around 140 calories in a white castle "burger". 40% of the calories from fat using only 1/18th of a pound burger https://www.cooksinfo.com/white-castle (they make 18 burgers out a pound of lousy quality hamburger). Folks, that's a whopping 0.88 ounces of meat. I suspect the onions weigh more. lol Basically, the buns super soft buns (from the humidity of the burger) plus the tender onions is the only value of the burger.

As others have mentioned, a great meal when you had a few too many beers. The best tasting item on the menu is the onion chips. https://www.whitecastle.com/food/men...on-chips-rings
