Even if the entire 3 million population of CHI left, that wouldn't be nearly enough demand nationwide to keep expanding. They've opened branches in TX, AZ, CA, etc. They are also opening lots of new locations in outlying cities (ie Rockford), suburbs, and nearby states like Iowa as well.

CA and TX chains are blowing up, too. And those states are growing in leaps and bounds. How would you explain that?

Yep and I still drive west to their Centereach location 2x a year to get my fix....just to slide my fingers on each side of those warm buns belly bombers in the box while taking in the aroma of the onions....Buy em by the sack ! hell yeah !

I'm from the east end of Long Island and had some prime location land 20 or so years ago where today is all box stores right past Tanger....my business mind told me would be a perfect spot for a White Castle as I wasn't the only one from the east end to drive west to get some....and I just knew that the RT 58 corridor would eventually explode with opportunity.

So one day 20 years or so ago I contacted White Castle in Ohio and told them I was interested in purchasing a franchise for the east end...and much to my dismay they replied back informing me that they are a private enterprise and that all their stores are company owned and they do not offer franchising.....I do not know if that has changed today but that was the end of my business idea in having a White Castle on the east end....and jump forward to today 2018 and we still do not have a white castle on either fork of the east end.

But I still love em

I am so hungry for a WC now. There is one down the rod from my job. I personally think they are delicious when fresh and hot but the frozen ones are not.
