Planning to move with my family for the top charter schools. Also house prices, Indian grocery stores , proximity to airport matters. Which city do you recommend?

Too vague. The valley is a huge area. The posters are really helpful on this thread, but they're going to need a few more specifics such as budget? where (city) you will be working? How far are you willing to drive for work? School? Airport? However, based on your desire for top notch schools I would suggest you look at Chandler, which has a notable Indian presence and a good school system. Parts of Phoenix and possibly Tempe might work as well.

Probably do better if you actually posted this in the Phoenix forum rather than the general Arizona forum.

BTW...are you trying to start a fight with the Chandler/Scottsdale comparison?

Lots of info here. Do a search for cities of interest. I would say Chandler, Tempe, Gilbert and Scottsdale are good places to start.

You won't find Indian grocers in Scottsdale, I don't believe. In the Phoenix area, people don't form neighborhoods by ethnicity, but by economic status. That said, the Chandler area has more of an ethnic inffluence from Indian/Pakistani/and southeast Asian cultures than anywhere in the Valley. Next closest would be south Tempe.

Don't move to "mess". It'll be a messy situation for sure. Tempe would be a good location to be close to Sky Harbor and possibly Asian Indian culture (especially near downtown Tempe), but you'll have a high presence of college age kids, hipsters, homeless, etc. For a budget of $700K, I'd recommend either Chandler or Scottsdale.

Chandler has Lee Lee's, Cloves and Ashoka Indian grocery stores...I think Tempe and "mess" have some as well.

There are also several Indian and Indian/Asian Fusion restaurants in Chandler in the area of the Intel plant on Chandler Blvd and Rural Rd. Their is a high Indian population as many of them work at Intel. My kids are adults now but I've heard the Kyrene school district is still one of the better public school systems.

But recently local papers have had stories about new comers causing problems disrupting board meetings and making demands on Kyrene administrators about alleged neglect of some ethnic special needs. I won't elaborate, but you should be able to figure out what I'm not saying about who is doing the complaining, and they aren't Indian or Asian.

You may want to look at good charter schools. If I had school aged children they would be going to private or charter schools, not public schools.
