Laveen isn't rough. It might not be the best commute to Tempe, but it isn't an unsafe area.

This area has the highest murder rate in the valley followed by some parts of South Phoenix.

Laveen to Tempe is not a commute I would volunteer for.

Another vote for South Phoenix, and the Ahwatukee area. Both should be an easy commute to Tempe.

False, nice try. That title belongs to the area around 24th St and Van Buren and NOT Eastlake neighborhood

Haha that's funny! I thought he might have been thinking of that article. Since I live in that area I can tell you that the mile and a half difference to 24th St makes a H3LL of big difference!

Thanks for sharing.

First thanks everyone for the help so far! I've been looking at the south mountain area, and I'm noticing (using Google maps) any bars/restaurants are all 15 mins away. Is this area very secluded, or is Google maps failing me? Thanks! Also as far as crime goes, I may not have a record but I'm not perfect so my neighborhood doesnt need to be either.. however nobody wants there house broken into so theirs a limit
