What I found interesting when I lived in Thailand, was that the telvisions (etc.) in high end department stores were often a year or two ahead of what you could find in America.

Our 2014 60" Samsung plasma (google "last great plasma tv") is still going strong. Bought it (online) from Best Buy and paid for delivery and setup. The delivery guys were a little pissy about moving our old 40" plasma to our guest house, but other than that the process went well. Eventually the Samsung will die and its replacement will have to be OLED but no rush.

We had a Panasonic plasma that I bought in 2012 I think. I liked it for the master bedroom because it was a great picture and didn't put out much light. Last year it didn't stop working but the HDMI port stopped working so the Roku wouldn't function (not a smart TV back then). Upgraded to the Sony OLED and have been happy. Eight years is a solid life for a TV these days.

Did you not read where I specifically said, not places like Costco? Did you not read where I already specifically mentioned Best Buy?

Don’t care. You want TVs you have options. Your criteria doesn’t make sense

My neighbor ended up buying from Spencer's, and I bit my tongue.
