Co-ops in places like NYC have similar requirements before you can buy in, so it’s not totally unheard of to require an approval process to buy in certain places.

But also to be clear, the pre approval is only for the Seven at Desert Mountain, which is a new development. I don’t think that same process applies to resale homes.

Personally, if I had a $4M-$5M budget...I wouldn't want to live around ANYONE, spend considerably less on a cabin in the mountains and invest everything else. But, some people thrive on prestige and a "Look at me" attitude. Definitely would not want to live around them.
Never knew that type of restriction was around or even allowed.

Completely with you on the living with acres around me in that price range. And no doubt about the bragging rights type attitude prevail in certain parts by some people. Some really get off on that it seems.

We will be in that process in the coming years, looking for space around us, a nice spot in Cave Creek, North Scottsdale. Lived in several HOA communities, master planned type places. Very nice looking and all, nice amenities, many nice neighbors, but we are sick of living in the close stacked housing communities around here on many levels.
