I still think it's funny that Sen. McCain is considered conservative.

Carry on...

Flip side I have little respect or tolerance for SF anymore.........too many of the people there have an intolerant elitist attitude towards regular Americans which is exploding in their collective faces.

I will agree I don't think he or she should move here either.

He's Republican in name only. I think the neoconservatives stayed home in this election. If his opposition wasn't such a socialist I would have stayed home myself. This is the first time I have ever for McCain.

I actually thought it would have happened already but we are actually going the right direction. I think the people that are moving here from Cali are trying to get away from that way of thinking. Thank Goodnesss! They appreciate Sheriff Joe here.

We are looking for areas where there isn't a lot of proselytizing from religious types and more of a live and let live attitude. We do believe in community and responsibility so a place with considerate, stable and financially secure neighbors with a strong work ethic is also important but not snooty or obsessed with materialism. I am not a church goer, not really a believer for that matter. I would like to live in an area where there is a more open minded and tolerant attitude especially in the schools. Good schools that is. How are Waddell, Wittman, Litchfield Park, Anthem, Vistancia? What about Northeast Mesa, Surprise, Peoria or North Phoenix? We are medical people so we can live virtually anywhere and be convenient to work. We know the areas by visiting but it's impossible to get a sense of how people interact in just a day or two.

At the risk of being hypocritical we do want to live among and have our children go to school with like minded people. People with the same economic circumstances which is solidly middle to upper middle calss.
There are few liberal areas in the Phoenix metro area. Tempe comes across as being liberal due to the nearby university. Downtown Phoenix comes across as being increasingly progressive and liberal, as well.

If you want an expansive liberal, progressive scene in an urban area of Arizona, I would suggest Tucson. Tucson has a very high percentage of open-minded, progressive, educated Democrats. Pima County (home of Tucson) is the only county in Arizona that rejected the constitutional ban on gay marriage. It is also one of the few counties in Arizona that went for Obama.

However, I know you are looking in the Phoenix area, so you might either be forced to relax some of your standards or look in the few areas that are being suggested.

It is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

As it was...oh, say 3 month ago.

Or...one year ago.

Or 2 years ago, etc.

But I doubt real estate sales is the issue in your life.

I guess liberal to some means anything goes. Maybe I should have used the term progressive. I just want to avoid ultra conservative, intolerant religious types.
