wow, I hope I never live in Sun City haha.

What ever happened to traditional city planning that has worked for so long? In order to have that trendy design there was an enormous amount of land wasted on road and concrete.

I love Phoenix's canals, and I think the city should really utilize them and make them walkable etc. Kinda of like Phoenix's answer to other cities rivers and oceans.

Yeah, I know what ya mean.

Scottsdale did an awesome job with the storefronts, hotels, and condos along the canal banks - they called it Waterfront.

Can't understand why Phx won't do the same. Canal banks in Phx are pretty bland-looking.

Most of the canals in Phoenix run through residential areas. There are very few that would be ripe for development in Phoenix with a similar concept as Scottsdale's Waterfront, which BTW, is in downtown Scottsdale ... so Scottsdale actually had an advantage over Phoenix in that regards.

Incidentally, I really enjoy the various photos you post of different sections of metro Phoenix. Keep them coming!
